We had lots of visitors the weekend of Baby's due date. So many people hoping to be in town when the little one arrived. No luck. Like Thomas, Baby #2 was a week late.
Uncle Peter and Uncle Drew came down for horse races and a Twins game. We were fortunate enough to have Lauren's help for most of the month. It was such a nice comfort having someone here in case I should have gone into labor in the night. We always enjoy having guests in our home, especially family.
Later in the day Erik's mom and sister stopped by. They brought dinner and took everyone to our favorite malt shop for dessert!
Having Thomas grow up around all this family makes me confident we made the right decision to move back to Minnesota. We couldn't ask for better aunties and uncles for our child(ren).
Thomas is one lucky boy to have such great uncles! I think he was feeling pretty cool to be out and about with the big boys. :)
A "walk" is always more enjoyable when you have a view and a ride. :)
Auntie Stephanie and Thomas patiently waiting for malts!
I don't know who is making who more happy but I know Thomas is always glad to have a Grandma in town!
Thomas would snuggle up to anyone willing to give him a taste of their malt.
Two days before Baby #2 arrived.
Yay, Auntie Hannah has arrived for the remainder of the pregnancy. She is such a huge help with Thomas and household chores. We made one final trip to the park before the birth day.
I am so in love with these two handsome guys.
I feel pretty lucky to call them mine.
Thomas has no idea how much his world is about to change...for the better!
I hope he doesn't expect to sit in the tree every time we visit the park. I don't know that Erik or I are willing (or able) to climb that thing.
And this is how we spent Thomas' final days as an only child. The next few days and weeks will be a period of adjustment but I know without a doubt this new baby will bring him so much love, happiness and friendship. Someone once told me "the best gift you can give a child is a sibling." I know from experience that this is the truth.
