Garden of the Gods

Tonight the Anderson's did a little Colorado sight seeing. We wanted pictures with Thomas at Garden of the Gods, an attraction Erik and I frequented while we lived in the Springs. It was a stormy night and the thunder really echoed within the giant red rocks. We were able to shoot a few photos before it started to sprinkle and by the time we made it back to the car we were pretty soggy. Thomas won't remember this evening but I'm glad we have pictures to show him one day.

Bummer...too cloudy to see Pikes Peak in the background.

A Night at the Ball Park

It was a beautiful night for softball! Thomas seemed to have a nice time playing in the grass and listening to people cheer.
I did my best to explain RBIs and the difference between "going to 2nd base" and hitting a double. ;)
Erik got a couple outs and had a few nice hits. One of his hits was almost a home run but went foul. The concept of foul and fair balls was a little difficult to explain to a 6 month old.

Thomas enjoyed playing with Daddy between games.

Thomas was interested in Daddy's glove.

Nice hit Erik!

Our Last Minnesota Vacation

Now that we are moving to Minnesota we will no longer "vacation" there. Below are highlights from our LAST Minnesota Vacation!
Thomas' first dip in the lake!

Erik enjoys an afternoon on the water.

Thomas does some swimming with Uncle Peter.

And more swimming with Uncle Drew.
More swimming with Uncle Mathew.

A birthday kiss for Daddy.

Hmmm. Not quite sure about touching the fish.

Happy 4th of July!

Good Bye Colorado

Our first home. As you can see, both Thomas and Erik are excited about  the "for sale" sign in the yard!
Erik, Thomas and I are bringing to a close our Colorado chapter and looking forward to new beginnings in Minnesota! It will be a bitter sweet move, Colorado is where Erik and I started our lives together as a married couple. We have met many wonderful people, gone on great adventures, built our first home, grown together as man and wife and welcomed our first child, Thomas John. But, Minnesota has always been "home" to us. We both grew up in Minnesota and most of our family still lives in MN. Moving back has always been our plan but very recently a series of fortunate events has taken place and we're packing up to move back in 14 days!On Monday Erik accepted a position (as a Financial Analyst for Lifetime Fitness) and put our nine month old home on the market. It feels weird to be packing up when it seems like we were still getting settled. I try not to fall in love with "things" but I really loved our first home. I will miss the gourmet kitchen, the large master suite with his and her walk in closets, the park across the street and the beautiful mountain views. However, I trust that good things are to come with this transition. I don't care where we end up living, I am just excited to be closer to family and friends back "home."
